hangel isn't a rescue team; it's a platform that brings volunteers, organizations and needs together. We're upfront about what we do.
112 comes first
If someone's life is in danger, always call 112. Official search and rescue and dispatch are handled by AFAD and 112; we don't replace them.
Verified announcements and needs lists
Our team or verified organizations post the needs in the area here (tents, blankets, water, interpreters…); you offer your help by tapping "I have it".
Disaster volunteer call-outs
If you become a disaster volunteer, we'll only reach out during a verified disaster, in your area, when your skills are needed. Limited in number, no ads.
Urgent blood
Approved blood requests are sent to donors whose blood type matches and who have turned these alerts on.
Your data, your call
You can turn off disaster volunteering anytime. We don't use your health information for this purpose.
Disaster alertsAlerts
From official AFAD, Kandilli and GDACS data; last 48 hours.
My assembly areaAlerts
The nearest assembly area in one tap, with distance and walking time.
Disaster RadioDisaster report
Push to talk: hold the button, speak, release. Everyone on the channel hears it. Without internet, the offline radio in the app passes the message from phone to phone. Agree on a number in General and switch to it together (0–99).
Report a disasterDisaster report
Report a disaster or emergency you've seen to the hangel disaster coordination team. This report goes to the hangel disaster coordination team; it is not automatically forwarded to AFAD or 112. If the team verifies it, they'll post an announcement here and, if needed, call on disaster volunteers in the area.
Blood need
Report a blood need with the hospital, blood type and units; once approved, it goes to matching donors nearby.
NeedsHelp needed
What do you need in the disaster? NGOs and users respond with "I can provide".
Disaster pack
Information that stays ready on your phone even if the internet or the network goes down: emergency announcements and needs lists, the NGO and club directory, and your own ID.
