Using co-citation, historiographic and bibliographic coupling analyses to examine the intersection of the social entrepreneurship and social innovation literatures, it shows that social innovation can also occur beyond the boundaries of social enterprises, while social enterprises still play a role in creating, enabling and scaling such solutions.
