Declining Poverty and Inequality in Turkey: The Effect of Social Assistance and Home Ownership

Using household surveys, it shows that despite their modest amounts social assistance payments reduce poverty in Turkiye and have a larger marginal effect on income inequality than other income sources, while home ownership also improves poverty.
