OpASHa's e-Compliance Initiative (a portable biometric identification system) ensures rigorous tracking of every dose by taking the patient’s fingerprint/iris scan at the time of every dose. This has reduced drop-out rates to 3%. Operation ASHA has had an 89% success rate and lowered the cost of treatment by 32 times compared to other programmes. It is working in several states across India and is treating 17% of entire Cambodia's TB patients. This model has been replicated in Uganda, Kenya, Peru, Dominican Republic, Tanzania and Afghanistan. It has distributed more than 570,000 painkillers and several thousand antacids, anti-emetics, iron tablets, calcium tablets, condoms, oral rehydration salt sachets, packets of protein supplements, 5 tonnes of food, and 4,000 blankets free of charge.
