Children's Data Policy (EU)
Informational English version. hangel is operated by Social Business Global (International Social Benefit Association), Türkiye. Effective: 31 August 2026.
1. hangel is for adults
hangel is intended for users aged 16 or over; full accounts start at 18. The service is not directed at children, is not designed to appeal to children, and offers no child-specific features or accounts.
Users aged 16 or 17 register in a limited mode: parental consent is declared and recorded at signup (the parent's or guardian's contact details are captured; verification steps are being phased in), and in limited mode the blood-donor matching feature and marketing communications are disabled. The use of their photos and videos for promotion requires parent/guardian consent. hangel is never available to anyone under 16.
2. No knowing collection of children's data
hangel does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16, and collects data of 16–17-year-olds only within the limited mode described above.
- Registration asks users to confirm their age; below 18, registration is possible only in the 16–17 limited mode with parental consent declared and recorded.
- hangel does not market the service to children and publishes no child-oriented content or features; marketing communications are disabled in limited mode.
- Verification of the recorded parental consent is being phased in; hangel does not claim a fully verified consent mechanism today.
3. If we discover a child's data
If we learn that personal data of a person under 16 has been collected — or that a 16–17-year-old is using hangel outside the limited mode — for example through a report from a parent or guardian, or through our own checks, we will:
- close the account, and
- delete the associated personal data promptly, except where a legal obligation requires limited retention.
4. Parents and guardians
If you believe a child is using hangel or that hangel holds a child's personal data:
- contact privacy@hangel.org (Türkiye/KVKK: kvkk@hangel.org);
- include enough detail for us to find the account (for example the email address or phone number used);
- we will investigate and confirm the outcome to you once any deletion is done.
A parent or guardian whose consent supports a 16–17 limited-mode account can withdraw that consent at any time via the same contacts; the account is then closed.
5. Special-category data
The optional blood-type feature is available only to account holders aged 18 or over, with their explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR). It is disabled in the 16–17 limited mode and is never offered to or collected about anyone under 18.
6. Complaints
You can complain to the supervisory authority in your member state — for example NAIH in Hungary or your competent data-protection authority in Germany — as described in the Privacy Policy (EU).
7. Language
The Turkish-language master documents prevail to the extent permitted by law; mandatory rights under the GDPR are unaffected.
