Age & Children's Data Policy (Nigeria)

Effective: 3 September 2026.

1. Age rule

In Nigeria hangel is available only to persons aged 18 or over (a child is a person under 18 under the Child Rights Act 2003). The limited 16–17 mode available for Türkiye and the European Union does not apply in Nigeria. Age is verified at signup and the verification record is kept.

2. Children's data

hangel is not directed at children and does not knowingly process their personal data. Section 31 of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 requires parental consent for processing a child's data — hangel resolves this radically: no accounts under 18 at all. If we discover an account belonging to a person under 18, the account is closed and the data deleted.

3. Blood-donor matching

The emergency blood-donor module is strictly 18+ — no exceptions in any country.

4. Parents and guardians

If you believe a child has created an account, tell us via the support channels — we will investigate and delete the data.
