Cookie Policy (EU)

Informational English version. hangel is operated by Social Business Global (International Social Benefit Association), Türkiye. Effective: 31 August 2026.

1. Scope

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (local storage, SDK identifiers) used by the hangel app and hangel.org for users in the EU/EEA. It is issued with regard to the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, as implemented in the member states, and the GDPR. It supplements the Privacy Policy (EU).

2. Strictly necessary (no consent required)

Used because the service cannot work without them:

Session and authentication — keeping you signed in securely.
Security — abuse and fraud prevention, request integrity.
Preferences — your language and theme choices.
Consent storage — remembering the cookie choices you made.

These are first-party and cannot be switched off in the banner.

3. Analytics (only with your consent)

hangel uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand aggregate usage and improve the service.

Analytics runs only after you give explicit consent — via the cookie banner or the checkbox at sign-up.
Analytics identifiers and events are retained for no longer than 12 months.
If you do not consent, analytics simply stays off; the service works the same.
You can withdraw consent at any time in settings, and collection stops.

4. Affiliate identifiers (required for the donation model)

When you choose to visit a partner merchant's store through hangel:

a click ID is created for that redirect and passed to the relevant affiliate network;
the network later reports back conversion parameters (such as order value and confirmation status) tied to that click ID;
hangel uses these identifiers solely to attribute the resulting commission — and therefore hangel's donation to a verified NGO — including in your "My Donations" screen;
they are shared only with the affiliate network involved in that click;
hangel does not use them for advertising or cross-site profiling.

Without these identifiers, purchases cannot be matched and no donation arises.

5. What hangel does not use

No Meta (Facebook) Pixel.
No Microsoft Clarity or session-replay tools.
No Google Ads or any third-party advertising or retargeting pixels.
No sale of personal data.

6. Managing your consent

The cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies with equal ease.
At sign-up, analytics consent is a separate, unticked checkbox.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time in the app or site settings; withdrawal stops future collection.
Your browser and device settings can also block or delete cookies; blocking strictly necessary ones may break sign-in.
