For Gemini
Connect hangel to Gemini
Ask Gemini CLI or Antigravity about information that is public on hangel: NGOs, events, volunteering opportunities and open grant and funding calls. The connection is read-only and needs no hangel account or sign-in.

Which one should I use?
According to Google’s announcement, since 18 June 2026 Gemini CLI serves only Gemini Code Assist Standard or Enterprise licences and paid API keys. Free, Google AI Pro and Ultra accounts moved to Antigravity CLI (agy). hangel can be installed both ways; both connect to the same server.
If you use a free, Google AI Pro or Ultra account
Install the hangel plugin in Antigravity CLI.
If you have a Gemini Code Assist Standard or Enterprise licence, or a paid API key
Install the hangel extension in Gemini CLI.
If you only want to add the server, not the extension
Write the MCP server into Gemini CLI’s settings file by hand.
These conditions come from Google’s documentation and can change; see Google’s Gemini CLI and Antigravity documentation for the current state.
How to connect
The install commands below add the server for you. To add it by hand, the server address (Streamable HTTP, no authentication) is:
https://hangel.org/api/mcpAntigravity CLI (agy)
Run this command in your terminal:
agy plugin install https://github.com/hangelapp/hangel-pluginGemini CLI
Run this command in your terminal, restart Gemini CLI and check the install with gemini extensions list:
gemini extensions install https://github.com/hangelapp/hangel-pluginManual setup
Add this to the mcpServers section of ~/.gemini/settings.json (create the file if it does not exist). This is Gemini CLI’s settings file.

Privacy and data
The hangel server asks for no account, name or email, and returns only records that are already public on hangel.org. It does not read your conversation; it receives only the search phrase Gemini sends to a tool.
- Private, invite-only, employee-only, test and demo records are excluded from results.
- Standard server logs can include technical request data (IP address, time); for product searches the search phrase can also appear in those logs.
- Nothing is written, deleted or changed: every tool is read-only.
- When you use Gemini CLI or Antigravity, your questions and the answers are processed by Google’s services; that part is governed by Google’s privacy terms, not hangel’s.
Frequently asked questions
Why is it not in the Gemini app?
According to Google’s help page, adding your own MCP address to the Gemini app (gemini.google.com) currently works only in the US, for personal accounts aged 18 or over, and in English; it can only be added on the web. So it is not a workable route for users in Turkiye today. Google’s connected apps programme is still in preview and access is opening in stages. hangel is not currently available in the Gemini app as a ready-made connector; we will update this page when the conditions change.
Can I use Gemini CLI with a free Google account?
According to Google’s announcement, not since 18 June 2026: free, Google AI Pro and Ultra accounts use Antigravity CLI. You can install the hangel plugin with the Antigravity command above.
Do I need to pay or have an account for hangel?
No. The hangel server asks for no authentication and is read-only. The Google account, licence or API key that Gemini CLI or Antigravity needs is subject to Google’s terms.
Good to know
- Most records are in Turkish; common English terms are also matched to their Turkish equivalents.
- Prices and stock can change at the store; the product page has current information.
- hangel does not take direct cash donations to organisations; donations happen only through shopping on hangel Market.
- Fair use: 120 requests per minute per IP address.
- hangel builds and runs this extension and plugin. It is not a Google product; Gemini and Antigravity are trademarks of Google.
