1. Purpose

To explain where hangel's income comes from, how amounts transferred to NGOs are calculated and to whom and how we show this information.

2. Scope

Income and transfers of the International Social Benefit Association related to the hangel platform: affiliate commissions, corporate service income, sponsorship service fees and transfers to NGOs.

3. Principles

  1. Accurate figures. Every amount shown is calculated from platform records; estimates or demo data are never shown as real.
  2. One calculation rule. The amounts seen by users, NGOs and brands come from the same calculation rule, so the figures match.
  3. Traceable transfers. Transfers to NGOs are made through a bank and every transfer is recorded.
  4. No overstatement. Amounts that have not materialised, are not final or may be refunded are shown as "pending".
  5. Legal obligations. The Association is subject to the bookkeeping, documentation and annual declaration obligations of Türkiye's Law on Associations (No. 5253) and the Regulation on Associations.

4. Roles and responsibilities

  • Board of Directors: responsible for financial transactions and for this policy.
  • Supervisory Board: audits the Association's accounts as required by law.
  • Super-admins (finance): manage rates, record month-end transfers and monitor reconciliation.

5. How it works at hangel today

  • Calculation rule: When a purchase a user makes through the hangel market is confirmed, the commission paid by the brand is the gross amount. First, taxes calculated on the gross amount (in the default settings, income tax 20% and VAT 20%) are deducted. The remaining net amount is divided between the NGO share and hangel's share: in the default settings, hangel's share equals 10% of the NGO share (about 9.1% of the net amount). The NGO share is split equally between up to two NGOs chosen by the user. Rates are set in the super-admin panel.
  • Visibility: Users see their own contributions on the "My Donations" page; NGO administrators see the amounts due to their organisation in their panel.
  • Reconciliation: Every day, conversions reported by the affiliate network for the last 35 days are compared with platform records.
  • Transfers: At month end, pending amounts are transferred manually by bank transfer to the NGO's institutional bank account; a super-admin records the transfer, a payout record (amount, period, reference) is created and the NGO's administrator is notified.
  • Monthly report: On the 1st of each month, the administrators of every NGO that had volunteering or events in the previous month receive a monthly impact report.
  • Demo data: Demo data used for presentations is not written to donation records and is not included in public figures.
  • Sponsorship: The sponsorship service-fee rate is written into the agreement at the moment of acceptance; at present no payment is collected for sponsorship, only the commitment is recorded.

6. Not yet in place and our goals

  • We have not commissioned an independent financial audit.
  • We do not publish the Association's annual income and expenditure summary on the site; our goal is to publish an annual financial summary.
  • There is no public report showing the total amount transferred to NGOs across the platform.
  • Two-person approval for payouts is not enforced in software.
  • The receipt and tax consequences of transfers made on users' behalf are under review by our lawyer (Donation and Affiliate Transparency Policy).

7. How to raise a concern

Questions and objections about amounts: destek@hangel.org. Suspected misconduct: kvkk@hangel.org (subject "Whistleblowing — Confidential").
