1. Purpose
To make sure everyone is safe and respected at in-person and online events organised through hangel.
2. Scope
Events organised by the Association and Oda meeting rooms; participants, speakers, volunteers, sponsors and organisers. For events announced on hangel by other organisations, these rules are the minimum expectation; the organising body can add its own rules and is responsible for applying them at its event.
3. Principles
Expected from everyone: respectful language; openness to different views; respect for other people's personal space and for their "no"; following the directions of venue and security staff.
Not acceptable: harassment (verbal, physical, sexual, online), unwanted physical contact, stalking, threats, discriminatory or degrading words and images, taking and sharing photos or video of a person without their permission, deliberately disrupting a meeting, spam and advertising in chat, selling event codes or tickets to others.
Speakers: do not use discriminatory or sexual content in presentations; use others' content only with permission and with attribution.
Sponsors: do not collect participants' contact details without name-badge consent.
4. Roles and responsibilities
- Organiser: announces the rules, intervenes during an incident (warning, removal from the room or meeting), calls security or 112 if needed and reports the incident to hangel.
- Super-admins: review reports on the platform and close accounts where needed.
- Participants: follow the rules and report any breach they see to the organiser or through the app.
5. How it works at hangel today
- Consent-based sharing: Separate consent is collected for identifiable people in event photos. Sharing contact details through the name badge requires a separate consent.
- Oda: The chat filter is on for everyone and every message has a report button. Participants under 18 are in safe mode.
- Entry: Tickets and entry use QR codes; if the organiser chooses, the ticket holder can be verified at the door with an NFC-chip identity card (no data is stored, only a "verified" flag).
- Reporting: Events and participant profiles can be reported from the app.
- Speaker comments: Inappropriate comments about speakers can be hidden by an administrator.
6. Not yet in place and our goals
- Event pages do not link to these rules automatically; our goal is to show a short acknowledgement during registration.
- There is no field for showing a named "trust contact" for an event.
- There is no post-event incident report form.
7. How to raise a concern
During the event: the organiser and, if needed, 112. Afterwards: "Report" in the app or destek@hangel.org; for serious incidents kvkk@hangel.org (subject "Whistleblowing — Confidential").
8. Review
At least once a year.
