1. Purpose

To keep hangel a safe and respectful place for good deeds, volunteering and solidarity. These guidelines explain in plain language what you can and cannot do on the platform.

2. Scope

All content and interactions on hangel: posts, comments, messages, profiles, organisation pages, event and volunteering listings and Oda meeting chats. They apply to users and organisations (NGOs, clubs, brands) and are enforced as part of the Terms of Use.

3. Principles

Do:

  • Take part with your real name and accurate information.
  • Speak on behalf of an organisation only if you are authorised.
  • Ask for permission before sharing other people's photos; never share images of children without their parent's permission.
  • In listings, state the task, place, time and any age limit clearly.
  • Stay respectful in disagreements; report problems with "Report".

Don't:

  • Post any content that exploits or sexualises children (zero tolerance).
  • Post sexual content, harass, bully, threaten or call for violence.
  • Post hate speech or discriminate on the basis of religion, language, origin, sex, disability or any other characteristic.
  • Commit fraud, run fake campaigns, pose as a fake organisation or post misleading calls for help; redirect people off the platform to collect money.
  • Share other people's personal data (phone, address, ID, health information) without permission.
  • Spam, post bulk advertising, create fake accounts or impersonate others.
  • Infringe copyright or trademarks.
  • Spread false or unverified emergency blood or disaster information.

4. Roles and responsibilities

  • Users and organisations: follow the guidelines and report breaches.
  • Super-admins: review reports and decide on content and accounts.
  • Organisation administrators: are responsible for content on their own pages.

5. How it works at hangel today

  • Posts, messages, profiles, events and volunteering listings have a "Report" option; in Oda chat, every message has a report button. Reasons: child safety, sexual content, harassment or bullying, hate, violence, fraud, personal data, spam, other.
  • A person or an organisation account can be blocked; a blocked account cannot message you and its content is not shown to you.
  • There is no private one-to-one messaging between users.
  • The chat filter in Oda is on for everyone.
  • Content that breaks the guidelines is hidden from the public; for serious or repeated violations, the account can be disabled. Details: Content Moderation and Takedown Policy.

6. Not yet in place and our goals

  • There is no written graduated sanctions table for warnings, temporary restrictions and permanent closure.
  • People whose content is removed are not yet notified and there is no in-app appeal.
  • A short summary of these guidelines is not yet shown inside the app.

7. How to raise a concern

"Report" in the app. If you cannot access the app, destek@hangel.org; for child safety, info@hangel.org (subject "Child safety").

8. Review

At least once a year and whenever app store rules change.
