Text language

1. Purpose

To prevent harassment and bullying on the platform, at events and in the Association's working environment, and to make sure those affected can report safely.

2. Scope

hangel users and organisations; the Association's employees, volunteers and management; all online and in-person events.

3. Principles

  1. Definition. Harassment is unwanted behaviour that violates a person's dignity or creates an intimidating, degrading or hostile environment. Sexual harassment is any unwanted words, messages, images or contact of a sexual nature. Bullying is behaviour that repeatedly targets, belittles or excludes a person. Online and in-person behaviour are both covered.
  2. Zero tolerance. Harassment and bullying are not accepted.
  3. The account of the person affected is taken seriously. A report is taken up for assessment without first requiring evidence.
  4. No retaliation. No one who reports or acts as a witness may be retaliated against.
  5. Proportionate sanctions. From a warning to closing an account; within the Association, disciplinary measures up to termination of contract.

4. Roles and responsibilities

  • Super-admins: review and decide on reports on the platform.
  • Board of Directors: investigates or arranges investigation of internal allegations; a member connected with the subject does not take part.
  • Event organisers: intervene during an incident.

5. How it works at hangel today

  • The "Report" menu includes the reasons "Harassment or bullying" and "Sexual content"; the reporter's identity is not revealed to the content owner.
  • Blocking: a blocked person or organisation cannot message you and their content is not shown to you; the block list is managed under Settings → Blocked accounts.
  • Because there is no private one-to-one messaging between users, one person cannot send a direct message to another person.
  • In Oda chat the filter is on and every message can be reported.
  • A super-admin can disable an account for serious or repeated violations.

6. Not yet in place and our goals

  • Harassment prevention training is not delivered regularly to the Association's employees and volunteers.
  • There is no filter that automatically screens abusive language in comments and posts on the platform (except in Oda chat).
  • A list of support resources for those affected (for example relevant helplines) is not shown in the app.

7. How to raise a concern

Platform: "Report" in the app. Within the Association: kvkk@hangel.org (subject "Whistleblowing — Confidential"). Immediate danger: 112.

8. Review

At least once a year.
