Idioma del texto

1. Purpose

To explain who can use hangel, from what age and on what conditions, and which features are closed to young people.

2. Scope

hangel.org, the hangel iOS and Android apps and Oda meeting rooms; users in all countries.

3. Principles

  1. The minimum age is 16 in every country. People under 16 cannot register.
  2. Ages 16–17 use a limited mode. A parental consent declaration with the contact details of a parent or guardian is required.
  3. Age 18 and over means a full account.
  4. The blood donation module is open only to people aged 18 and over, everywhere and always.
  5. No marketing to young people. No commercial electronic messages are sent to 16–17-year-olds.
  6. Age cannot be increased. Once saved, the date of birth cannot be changed in the app; corrections are made through support.

4. Roles and responsibilities

  • User: declares their date of birth correctly.
  • Parent or guardian: consents to the use of the service by a 16–17-year-old.
  • Super-admins: close accounts found to belong to people under 16.
  • Organisation administrators: state age limits clearly in their listings.

5. How it works at hangel today

  • When it is checked: Age is verified once, using the date of birth, when age-dependent settings such as blood donation, volunteering and notification/marketing consent are opened.
  • Outcomes: 18 and over: full account; 16–17: limited mode; under 16: cannot pass the check.
  • Limited mode: For 16–17-year-olds, the e-mail address or phone number of a parent or guardian is mandatory; the declaration is written to an acceptance record that cannot be deleted. In this mode the blood module and marketing messages are off and marketing consent is switched off automatically; the use of images depends on parental consent.
  • Oda: Participants under 18 are in safe mode; they cannot take part in post-meeting profile sharing and do not appear in other people's lists.
  • No changes: A saved date of birth cannot be changed in the app.

6. Not yet in place and our goals

  • Age is not verified with an identity document; it relies on the person's declaration.
  • No verification message is sent to the parent; parental consent is based on a declaration.
  • Age is checked when an age-dependent feature is opened, not at registration; the age of someone who does not use any age-dependent feature may be unknown.
  • App store age-signal tools are not yet used.

7. How to raise a concern

To report a user under 16 or to have a date of birth corrected: destek@hangel.org. Child safety: "Report" → "Child safety" in the app, or info@hangel.org.

8. Review

At least once a year and whenever legislation or app store rules change.
