1. Purpose

To prevent gifts, refreshments, invitations and hospitality from influencing our decisions, or appearing to do so.

2. Scope

Board and Supervisory Board members, employees, the Association's own volunteers and super-admins of the International Social Benefit Association; all gifts, refreshments, meals, travel, accommodation and event invitations given or received.

3. Principles

  1. No gifts during decisions. No gift or hospitality is accepted from an organisation while its application, transparency review, complaint, payout, sponsorship or supply offer is being assessed.
  2. No cash. Cash, gift vouchers, crypto assets or gifts convertible into cash are neither accepted nor given.
  3. Token items are acceptable. Small promotional items with an organisation's logo, normal refreshments served at an event and a reasonable meal at a business meeting can be accepted.
  4. Public officials. No gifts are given to public officials other than token, institutional items; the relevant public ethics rules are observed.
  5. When in doubt, declare. Any gift whose value or nature is uncertain is reported to the Board of Directors before acceptance; if it is not appropriate, it is politely returned.
  6. Travel and accommodation. Travel and accommodation paid by an organisation for representing the Association are accepted only with the Board's prior written approval.

4. Roles and responsibilities

  • Everyone: follows the rules and declares any situation they are unsure about.
  • Board of Directors: assesses declarations and decides whether to return or accept.

5. How it works at hangel today

  • Approval, report and payout decisions on the platform are written to the audit log, so it can be seen later who took a decision.
  • Relationships between organisations, such as sponsorship and event support, are recorded and visible on the platform (Sponsorship and Brand Partnership Acceptance Policy).

6. Not yet in place and our goals

  • No gifts and hospitality register is kept; our goal is a simple register.
  • No monetary limit for acceptable gifts has been set; the Board of Directors needs to set one.
  • No regular briefing on this topic is given.

7. How to raise a concern

Declarations: to the Board of Directors or ismailhilmi@hangel.org. Breaches: kvkk@hangel.org (subject "Whistleblowing — Confidential").

8. Review
